Stanley is going to a small town. He might meet a lot of people. Stanley will have to wear a hat and mittens and also a coat. It is cold where he is going! Stanley could go skateboarding at the largest skateboard park! He could also go mountain climbing on White Mountain. Stanley could slip on the mountain. Weee!

Flat Stanley could also go to the amusement park. Did I mention it is a sporting event? Stanley is going to New Hampshire.

Flat Stanley is home!!! He had a wonderful time in Brookline, New Hampshire. This was a ski vacation for him because the weather at this time of the year is quite cold and snowy, much like Wisconsin. Flat Stanley got to ski at Mt. Sunapee, Ragged Mountain, Pat’s Peak, and Crotched Mountain. Flat Stanley got a lot of exercise skiing.

Flat Stanley went to school with my cousin, Tia, and went to softball practice. He met a lot of kids in school and brought me home a page of their signatures. Flat Stanley also got to drive in a Driver’s Education car while my Uncle Fran was teaching some kids to drive. At the school he learned that New Hampshire is the ninth of the original thirteen states to enter the Union. The motto is “Live free or die.” He also learned that the birch tree is the state tree, the state flower is the lilac and the state bird is the Purple Finch. Flat Stanley learned the capital is Concord and the state emblem is the Old Man of the Mountains, which was a natural formation that fell from the face of the mountain on May 3, 2003.

Flat Stanley said that a trip to New Hampshire wouldn’t be complete without a shopping trip. He went to the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester and the Antique shop on Second Avenue in Amherst. He brought me home a New Hampshire magnet, a sticker and some postcards. He also brought home lots of pictures.

I am glad Flat Stanley is home and he had a good time. Flat Stanley said he hopes he can go back and visit when I go.
